We offer emergency shelter, and a residential program for only women and children who are looking for a fresh start from addiction, homelessness, and various other types of hardships or situations. There is an application process, and residents are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYONE WITH A FELONY OR A HISTORY OF
VIOLENCY OR ABUSE TO CHILDREN OR ADULTS.

Emergency Services

Sisters 4 Hope Foundation’s emergency shelter is scheduled to open in August 2021 and will be open to 80 people each night. While residing at the shelter, guests will receive three meals a day, are assigned an individualized case plan to follow, have access to the laundry room, and can use the client’s phone, etc.

Additionally, Sister 4 Hope’s main location offers free meals, case management services, and basic needs to any woman in need (known as day guests), between 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. daily. If the temperature drops below 45 degrees or there is a severe weather emergency (hurricane, tornado, etc.), Sisters 4 Hope Foundation has been approved to open as a Cold Night Shelter, in which we have space for an extra 60 clients.

Middle Passage

Middle Passage is our transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency and is scheduled to open Spring 2022.

Middle Passage provides affordable housing in a communal setting to working single women and mothers with children. Middle Passage’s communal setting is available for rent, where residents get their own room and bathroom but share a kitchen, living room, and laundry with other tenants. Each family works with a case manager to design a plan to move to self-sufficiency. Low-income families who cannot afford market rent, benefits from this set-up since they work as a community to achieve similar goals. The extended time up to 12 months, families can stay at Middle Passage, combined with their case manager partnership, will allow mothers to pursue education and skills training, and thus increase their incomes.

Our program requires a commitment to the following:

  • Faith Development through attendance of group bible studies.
  • Service through participation in community service projects.
  • Seeking and obtaining stable employment and/or developing a trade or job discipline.
  • Abstaining from substance abuse of alcohol, drugs, and other items as appropriate.
  • Following a proposed self-development plan given by staff.
  • Payment of a monthly program fee.

Booster’s House

Booster’s House is a long-term housing program scheduled to open Fall 2022.

Booster’s House will assist homeless working individuals whose goal is to become self-sufficient. Since affordable housing is difficult to find in Texas, the program at times also invites persons who receive disability income to apply. Some residents use the program for a short time, then move on to private housing. Others, who have fixed incomes, will have the opportunity to remain a resident of Booster’s House long-term. Residents with have the option of 1–3-bedroom apartments depending on family size and will work with case managers based on their personalized case plans.

Click Apply if you would like to submit an online application for either residential program. If you would like to learn more about the program, its cost, or complete paper application, please contact us by email at info@sisters4hope.org.

Part of our mission is to connect with our children. The infants and toddlers have childcare and early learning programs, and we have created a Big Brother Big Sister program, so we can mentor our pre-teen & teenagers.

Sisters 4 Hope Foundation would have never achieved what it has without help and support of others. These programs are heavily running with the support of our staff and volunteers, as we fulfill our mission with the help of donors and the acquisition of grants. We are always looking to expand these programs and welcome any support you can provide us financially or by volunteering.

We make a difference by creating professionally supported one-to-one matches for kids who want and need to realize their full potentials. They have the potential to change the world. Why not be a child’s ally.

We have 3 programs with distinct names:

Big Brother Big Sister of DFW (age 8-18)

S.W.E.E.T.S. (Sisters with Enough Esteem to Soar) age 13-19

            Gentlemen of Distinction age 13-19

While the Texas economy is booming, it is not without pitfalls. 1 in 7 Texans, out of 4 million experience food insecurity. Children, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and working families are among those affected in every Texas county.

Hunger is primarily a symptom of economic insecurity. A household income that cannot keep pace with the cost of living combined with unexpected expenses like a car accident or medical emergency can force families to make impossible choices between food and other basic needs.

Research tells us that food insecurity and health issues often go together. For that reason, our nutrition services team works to ensure that Sisters 4 Hope’s feeding takes the nutritional needs of our hungry neighbors into account. In addition to providing access to nutritious foods, Sisters 4 Hope Foundation also works to teach families, seniors, and children about eating nutritiously on a budget, and partners with community gardens to gain more access to fresh, locally grown produce.
